Now that I’ve started to even LIKE what greets me in the mirror, it’s getting harder and harder to say no to ice cream

Let me tell you though, the plateau on top of the mountain is a breath of fresh air and a sigh of relief.  It is the ‘this body ran five miles’ instead of the ‘this body ate 150 calories over’.  It is laughing when it downpours during a walk instead of panicking to find a different way to burn 300 calories.  And it is the recognition that nothing in the world can beat a good scoop of ice cream.

One of my favorite things to do when I am out somewhere like a coffee shop, restaurant or my personal favorite, the airport, is people watch.  People are so interesting to me for a lot of reasons but especially because we come in such a variety of shapes, sizes colors and features.  It always strikes me how we can be so similar in some very basic ways yet so different in a lot of others.  Besides our physical features, we all tend to have our own sense of style, taste, and personal preferences when it comes to things like food, clothing, music, movies, books, etc.  These differences are what makes us well, us. They also make us unique and, in my opinion, our uniqueness is what makes us interesting.  Wouldn’t it be boring if we all liked the same things, all looked alike, and in turn had nothing new or…

Free Community Workouts in Miami

I’m huge fan of community workouts, not only because they are free (I’m on a tight budget), but also because they allow me to enjoy the beautiful Miami weather alongside my local community.

I get frustrated consistently looking at different websites for free workouts that are happening, especially since the information is not organized in a clear way. I also realize that many of the websites that do post multiple events are not up to date- sometimes I’ve shown up to different locations only to discover those community workouts are no longer happening. I figure I would post the community workouts that I have been to, or have heard positive things about, in one place here.

You can find some of my favorite free community workouts in Miami (organized by day of the week) below. I will try my best to keep this up to date!

Vanity metrics. They’re everywhere. Followers, likes, comments, friends, retweets. Those are just the ones on social media. Trust me, there are hundreds more.

How often do you think we find ourselves caring about something that is actually detrimental? Detrimental to our health, self esteem, self worth, self value, happiness, courage, confidence, you name it. I would say that we do this every day.

How often do you find yourself checking your Instagram post to see how many likes you’ve gotten? Did you hit triple digits yet? Did you get more than last time? Did your crush like it? Did anyone make a compliment in the comments section?

How about this… Try asking yourself something productive instead. Try asking yourself “why do I care?” Maybe ask “does it make a difference?” Or perhaps ask “what really matters to me?” I guarantee you’ll get a much different and much more positive outcome.
